At Mansfield Cosmetic Surgery Center, we offer saline implant or silicone gel breast augmentation, mastopexy with augmentation, and revision breast surgery.

Today, breast augmentation (breast enlargement or breast enhancement) allows you to experience a wonderful transformation in how you look and feel about yourself, to help you achieve self-confidence, and the ability to look your best.

Basically, women have two choices for breast augmentation with either saline implants or silicone gel implants. Breast augmentation with saline implants are intended for females who are at least 18 years old. However, women who choose breast augmentation with silicone implants must be at least 22 years old. Our silicone gel-filled implants feature a unique cohesive gel that holds together uniformly while resembling the natural look and feel of breast tissue.

To better simplify the philosophy of breast augmentation, there are three basic candidates requesting breast augmentation cosmetic surgery in our office. Which one are you?

First, is the young candidate in her 20’s to 30’s with developmentally small breasts (A or small B-cup) who simply needs added volume. Their most commonly requested size is a “36 full C-cup”. These patients are extremely happy following primary breast augmentation and experience a wonderful transformation that improves their self-confidence and total body image.

Second, is the candidate in her 20’s to 40’s who has experienced involution or postpartum deflation of her breasts following pregnancy and breast-feeding. As a consequence, her breasts now appear flat, flabby, and deflated. These patients are also extremely happy following primary breast augmentation, but may also need a mastopexy augmentation as a combination procedure. This determination will be made on an individual basis.

Third, is the candidate who already has breast implants but is now requesting revision breast cosmetic surgery due to asymmetry, capsular contraction, unevenness, hardening of the implant or rippling. These candidates commonly request implant exchange from saline to silicone gel.

What can I expect during my consultation?

During your consultation, you will meet privately and exclusively with Dr. Michael Thornton where you will collectively share in the decision making process about your personal needs, desires, and expectations. Although well qualified, we choose not use patient coordinators, nurse practitioners, or physicians assistants to perform your consultation. Next, we will have you try on our various implant sizers to give you a good approximation on how you will look following breast augmentation.

Consultations for breast augmentation, mastopexy with augmentation, or revision breast cosmetic plastic surgery are complimentary and we have performed breast augmentation on clients from across the DFW metroplex including, Mansfield, Fort Worth, Arlington, Dallas, Kennedale, Grand Prairie, Burleson, Corsicana, Ennis, Midlothian, Red Oak, Waxahachie, Corsicana, Duncanville, DeSoto and Plano.

Where will my surgery take place?

All breast augmentation and breast revision procedures are performed at Baylor Surgicare at Mansfield, a AAAHC certified out-patient surgery center, located in Mansfield, Texas. On average, a primary breast augmentation procedure will take 1 to 1.5 hours to complete, depending upon the complexity of the case. Furthermore, all breast augmentation procedures are performed using general anesthesia as provided by board-certified anesthesiologists. We do not perform or believe in performing ‘awake’ breast augmentation procedures.

Expertise of Dr. Michael Thornton

During his cosmetic surgery fellowship, Dr. Michael Thornton was specifically trained in both traditional and modern techniques in breast cosmetic surgery and revision breast surgery and has successfully performed primary breast augmentation, mastopexy with augmentation, and breast revision surgery on numerous clients. Dr. Thornton attends yearly national cosmetic surgery meetings and advanced breast courses to offer the latest techniques in breast cosmetic surgery.
