At Mansfield Cosmetic Surgery Center, we provide cosmetic improvement of your eyes by removing excess skin from your upper eyelids and by removing fat bulges from your lower eyelids.  This cosmetic eye surgery is known as eyelid lift surgery or blepharoplasty and is commonly performed to provide you with a more rested appearance.

Through the use of an advanced technique, Dr. Michael Thornton commonly performs scarless lower eyelid blepharoplasty or transconjunctival blepharoplasty to minimize scars and complications. Dr. Michael Thornton may also perform periorbital rejuvenation by performing skin resurfacing or fat grafting around the lower orbital region to tighten the lower eyelid skin, smooth out fine wrinkles, and eliminate dark circles due to a condition called a tear trough deformity..

What can I expect during my consultation?

During your consultation, you will meet privately and exclusively with Dr. Michael Thornton where you will collectively share in the decision making process about your personal needs, desires, and expectations.  Although well qualified, we choose not use patient coordinators, nurse practitioners, or physicians assistants to perform your consultation.  Dr. Thornton will complete a thorough medical history and perform a careful examination, including the identification of eyelid skin excess and fat pad herniation.  Consultations for blepharoplasty are complimentary at Mansfield Cosmetic Surgery Center and we perform blepharoplasty for clients from across the DFW Metroplex including, Mansfield, Fort Worth, Arlington, Dallas, Kennedale, Grand Prairie, Burleson, Corsicana, Ennis, Midlothian, Red Oak, Waxahachie, Corsicana, Duncanville, DeSoto Plano, and Tyler, Texas.

Where will my surgery take place?

Typically, upper and lower blepharoplasty surgery is performed in our private operating room as an outpatient procedure with local anesthesia and oral sedation.  Recovery is usually complete within 5 to 7 days, though mild swelling may last 7-10 days.  However, if more complex facial plastic surgery procedures are required, your surgery may be performed at Baylor Surgicare at Mansfield, a AAAHC certified out-patient surgery center, located in Mansfield, Texas.
