Torn earlobe repair, earlobe reduction, and otoplasty (ear pinning), are procedures that change the shape and contour of your ears. Although cosmetic ear enhancement is more commonly performed on young children, an increasing number of adults are undergoing otoplasty to improve their overall facial symmetry and appearance, while others are simply requesting repair of torn earlobes or removal of earlobe keloid scars.  In addition, clients undergoing a facelift procedure may request an earlobe reduction to improve the balance and symmetry of their face.

What can I expect during my consultation?

During your consultation, you will meet privately and exclusively with Dr. Michael Thornton where you will collectively share in the decision making process about your personal needs, desires, and expectations.  Although well qualified, we choose not use patient coordinators, nurse practitioners, or physicians assistants to perform your consultation.

Where will my surgery take place?

Cosmetic ear enhancement for a complete or partial torn earlobe is performed as a simple office procedure using local anesthesia. The procedure takes approximately 15 – 30 minutes.  Recovery time is approximately 5 – 7 days but will vary depending upon the complexity of the repair.  Dr. Thornton will re-pierce your ear as part of your procedure.
